Pay it Forward
It happened just the other day,
When I fell to my knees,
I thought my life was over,
Like that was just for me.
That is, until, a stranger,
Walked up and gave a hand,
And told me not to worry,
Said to get up off that sand.
I quivered and told the young man,
To leave away at once,
But he just stood and looked,
Gave me a very, very long glance.
After a while, he lost his stare,
And said I wasn't through,
Apparently my life was still long,
And I had plenty more to do.
I asked him why he helped me so,
And, also, what I could do,
But he just laughed a little,
And told me to pass it through.
When I fell to my knees,
I thought my life was over,
Like that was just for me.
That is, until, a stranger,
Walked up and gave a hand,
And told me not to worry,
Said to get up off that sand.
I quivered and told the young man,
To leave away at once,
But he just stood and looked,
Gave me a very, very long glance.
After a while, he lost his stare,
And said I wasn't through,
Apparently my life was still long,
And I had plenty more to do.
I asked him why he helped me so,
And, also, what I could do,
But he just laughed a little,
And told me to pass it through.
